German film director Wim Wenders
receives a testimonial letter and honorarium during the awards
ceremony of the 33rd Praemium Imperiale in Tokyo, Japan, 19
October 2022. The Praemium Imperiale is a global arts prize
awarded annually by the Japan Art Association. Five laureates
are nominated in the fields of Painting, Sculpture,
Architecture, Music and Theatre/Film. For its 33rd edition, the
Praemium Imperiale awards have been given to Italian painter
Giulio Paolini, Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, Japanese architects
Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, Polish pianist Krystian
Zimerman and German film director Wim Wenders.
