Ambassador Castellani today inaugurated the Italian stand at the International Economic Fair in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina's main multi-sectoral trade fair event. Italy holds the position of Partner Country this year. The inauguration was attended by the President of the Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković.
"Participation in the Fair as a Partner Country is an acknowledgement of the economic weight of Italy in Bosnia Herzegovina as the leading exporter country and the second largest trade partner," said the ambassador, "and is part of the path of strengthening the economic partnership undertaken in recent years (most recently with last year's Economic Dialogue in Sarajevo, chaired by Minister Tajani), confirming the strategic interest with which our country looks at the Western Balkans.
The Italian stand, co-organised by the embassy and ICE Agency, was attended by numerous delegations of Italian companies active in the agri-food and machinery sectors. The programme on the margins of the Fair was also very rich, with an exhibition of Italian painters from the early 20th century (including Modigliani), the swing sounds of the Tuscan group 'Musica da Ripostiglio', the seminar 'Regione Connessa', the digital exhibition 'Benfatto' on the Italian craft tradition, and the food and wine show by four chefs from Abruzzo coordinated by Federico Anzelotti. There will be a remote greeting from the promoter of Abruzzo's participation in the initiative, Vice-President and Agriculture Councillor Emanuele Imprudente. The operational arm of the region is the Regional Productive Activities Agency of the Abruzzo Region.
As part of the Italian participation as a Partner Country, a seminar co-organised with the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also scheduled to be held on 9 April.
