Auto production in Italy was down by
over a third, 33.5%, in February compared to the same month last
year, Istat said on Thursday.
The national statistics agency added, however, that
motor-vehicle production was up by 18.1% compared to January.
It said the data regarded passenger cars, the biggest part,
buses, trucks, motor homes, engines for motor vehicles and
mobile cranes.
It said output for transport-equipment manufacturing sector as a
whole was down 14.1% year-on-year and1.1% on a monthly basis in
February.
