Tranpsort Minister Matteo Salvini on
Monday called talks at the ministry Tuesday on the recent fire
that knocked out most services in and out of Catania airport in
Sicily.
Work is still needed to repair the damage caused by a fire at
arrivals on the night of Sunday July 16.
Catania airport serves 91 destinations, of which 24 are in
Italy, and the disruptions to flights have affected tens of
thousands of passengers.
Deputy Prime Minister Salvini has convened a round table at the
transport and infrastructure ministry (MIT) for tomorrow,
Tuesday 25 July, to deal with the Catania airport dossier and
"all stakeholders have been invited," said a note from the MIT.
