(ANSAmed) - CITTÀ DEL DECIMO RAMADAN, 15 APR - Italian industrial investments in Egypt, such as the plant just inaugurated by Mapei, strengthen economic relations between the two countries, in line with the spirit of the Mattei Plan for Africa, of which Egypt is one of the priority countries. This was stated by the Ambassador of Italy in Egypt, Michele Quaroni, speaking in the City of the Tenth Ramadan, north-west of Cairo, at the inauguration ceremony of the second Egyptian production plant of the Mapei Group, world leader in the production of chemical products for the building industry.
According to Quaroni, Italy is "among Egypt's main trade partners" and "the first partner among European countries". For this reason, he explained, "we strongly believe in strengthening economic relations between Italy and Egypt" and aim at "an economic relationship that is also based on cooperation in the industrial sector capable of creating employment opportunities and technological as well as economic growth thanks to the transfer of know-how and training of young people.
In his speech, the Ambassador thanked "the Gafi for the assistance it has provided to Mapei", defining the body - the Egyptian General Authority for Investments and Free Zones - "a very important partner of the Embassy" and valuable "for our companies that want to invest in Egypt".
The diplomat also praised Mapei, a world-famous Italian multinational company, for the investment model it has adopted in Egypt but also in other countries: "a very Italian example", "still totally based on its philosophy of doing business and brought it to the world as a very high quality product".
Quaroni also recalled that Mapei is involved "in very important projects for this country, such as the construction of the New Capital, the construction of the Summer Capital of El Alamein.
