Pope Francis is continuing to do some
work while he is being treated at Rome's Gemelli hospital for
bronchitis and double pneumonia, Vatican sources said on
Thursday.
Francis "continues his treatment and also his work activity,"
the sources said, stressing that the head of the Catholic Church
was only doing activities compatible with his illness and
being in hospital.
The sources said these activities included "reading and signing
documents, telephone conversations" and speaking to "close
aides".
The 88-year-old Argentine pontiff's condition remains "stable",
the sources said.
A new official bulletin with medical updates is set to be issued
later on Thursday.
